Registering for Tasmanian Revenue Online
You can register to lodge and pay payroll tax and insurance duty, calculate and self-endorse duty and request Land Tax Searches on TRO.
Users new to TRO will need to commence by registering as a new user. If you already have a TRO username you should log in to TRO (www.tro.tas.gov.au) and create your new account using the new application menu item in the top right hand corner of the screen.
If you are required to pay payroll tax in Tasmania, you must register using Tasmanian Revenue Online
Reporting Payroll Tax on behalf of others?
You can invite intermediaries to act on your behalf in relation to your TRO account using the Manage Users function on Tasmanian Revenue Online. You will need your intermediary's ABN to issue an invite to them. They must be registered as an intermediary with the SRO.
Tasmanian Revenue Online can be used for self-endorsement of duty documents once registered as an approved agent. Taxpayers liable to pay duty can also register to submit transactions electronically to the State Revenue Office for assessment.
Using AUSkey with the Tasmanian State Revenue Office
AUSkey is the single secure online credential (or ‘key’) for government transactions.
If you are a registered user of TRO, and you have an AUSkey, you can access TRO using the AUSkey. Simply log in to your account in Tasmanian Revenue Online. Access the menu by clicking on your username in the top right hand corner of the screen and select Manage AUSKey.
