How to apply

Retail Customers

Retail customers receive the concession as a daily discount shown as a credit on their electricity bill. The concession starts from the date the electricity retailer receives the completed application form. The amount on each bill depends on how many days are in the billing period and when the customer applied.

To apply for the life support concession:

  • contact your retailer for more information on how to apply; OR
  • complete the Life support concession application (also available from your electricity retailer and Service Tasmania) and have it medically certified by the treating medical practitioner; and
  • send the form to your electricity retailer.
The State Revenue Office cannot accept and approve applications, it is the responsibility of your electricity retailer.

Embedded Network Customers:

Concessions to embedded network customers are paid on an annual basis. For more information or to apply, please visit a Service Tasmania outlet or the Service Tasmania website.
