Your assessment notice contains your account number, the amount and due date of the assessment.
If you don't pay the account by the due date, you may gain penalties and/or interest. This amount may be added to your next account, or you will be sent a separate account.
Payment options
Payment options vary by the type of tax or duty you want to pay.
BPAY - via internet or phone banking

BPAY - via Tasmanian Revenue Online (TRO)
TRO (www.tro.tas.gov.au) provides details of the biller reference number and the payment number to be used.

Tasmanian Revenue Online (TRO) provides account details and the reference number to be added when using your financial institution's online service.
Direct debit - via Tasmanian Revenue Online (TRO) for Payroll tax, Duties and Insurance users
Important: Under no circumstances will we debit funds from your account without you clicking on the 'Authorise' button for each transaction.
You can elect to use electronic payment authorisation or direct debit when you register your account on TRO.
Once you have registered to use TRO, you can update your choice using the menu function 'Banking details'.
When your return is completed, you can elect to pay using the electronic payment authorisation (direct debit) or you can pay using an alternative method.

Present your account at any Service Tasmania shop.
Financial hardship
In certain circumstances, deferring payment or paying by instalments may be available.
We will consider a case to be of genuine financial hardship before agreeing to either of the above. Refer to our
Debt Management Guideline for more information.
Instalments can only be paid by direct debit from the applicant's bank or similar financial institution account, and the applicant must maintain sufficient funds in their account to guarantee payment by the agreed due date/s.
To apply for a deferment or to pay by instalments, submit the
Debt payment arrangement application form online.

If you have a question about your debt that has been referred to a debt collection agency, contact their office directly.
