Payroll tax and insurance duty

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​To lodge payroll tax and insurance duty returns in Tasmania, you will need to register for an account​​​ on Tasmanian Revenue Online​ (TRO). ​

​​TRO allows payroll tax and insurance duty registrants to:

  • lodge and amend monthly and annual returns;
  • receive assessment notices and communication from the SRO electronically; and
  • make payments.
​​Ensure you keep your registration details up-to-date, including updating your organisation's ownership or name details, and em​​ployment details. ​

​​Join or leave a group, add a group member, apply for an exclus​​ion, change ​​the claim m​ethod or group co-ordinator.
​​​​View your outstanding balance, make a payment on TRO, or update your bank account details.​​
