Register for duty transactions and/or land tax searches

1. Go to www.tro.tas.gov.au

2. If you are not already registered as a TRO user, register as a new user.

3. Select the New registration menu in the top right-hand corner of the screen as shown:

4. Select the Register for duty transactions and/or land tax search option:

5. Enter your details in the form.

6. All mandatory fields are marked by the asterisk symbol *.

7. If you select Yes to Do you want payments from this account to be made through TRO?:

  • ​Ensure you read the Electronic Payment Authority.
  • Select Accept.

8. Select the check box: The information I have provided is true and correct.

9. Select Submit. Alternatively, select Save Draft to complete the duty transaction and/or land tax search registration form at a later date.

Update registration to enable Electronic Conveyancing

  1. Select the Update registration menu option on the left-hand menu.
  2. Change the “Application Type" to TRO Agent.
  3. Change the “Function Type" to Duty transactions and land tax search.
  4. Select the relevant transactions that you would like to process.
  5. Select Update.


Application approval

Once your application has been approved, your TRO Licence Number automatically appears on the Update registration screen. Here you can also enter your PEXA Subscriber ID before selecting Update.
